To know about iBeacon
Beacon uses Bluetooth Low Energy in order to transmit the data from one device to another. This transmission is done through wireless sponsors. It lets you make payments without having to even take a look at your wallet. If you know how much money is in there that is. An ibeacon can transmit data for up to 50 metres which isn’t a bad thing at all. The best part about an ibeacon is that the batteries last for as many as 6 months. Isn’t that like completely cool? These are great devices for brands and industrialists. They can broadcast new offers and other such things on the devices of their customers. Personalised messages are also an option. However, the downside to this is that the consumers might be subjected to unwanted pop ups as soon as they enter the beacon range. This isn’t a very good idea though. It may create unwanted disturbance for the customers. Hence, it may not be all that great an idea.
NFC – A little about it
The NFC is another ibeacon like device but it is slightly different from the former. However, NFC isn’t all that invasive. Unless the person would like to, no one can send data to his or her device. This is great because it wipes off all the negativities related to the device. Since, this means personal interaction, NFC is definitely a little cooler than the ibeacon. It doesn’t allow unwanted messages to show up on the phone. This is one of the good things about the NFC.
Thus, from the above comparison one can see that both of them have –
- A good side to them
- A bad side to them
- In some cases, the ibeacon is better
- In others, NFC clearly takes the cake
- Both have a small risk to the device’s security
- Both of them allow customers to make payment without using wallets
- The ranges in which these devices can be operated are very different
- Lastly, one cannot deny that both of them are really cool.
Hence, if a user wishes for specific information about any product then, he or she can easily go ahead and get it. It is no big deal for any user to ask for information through the NFC. Moreover, unlike the ibeacon, NFC doesn’t require any power at all to function. This is a great thing about the device. Also, NFC works only within the proximity of 4 centimetres and hence, there is hardly any chance of a hacker or a virus popping into the phone. True, that all devices don’t have the benefit of NFC but most of the devices support bluetooth.
Carrie Miller works at Zealous System Australia – A Renowned web application development company says through this article that the iBeacon and the NFC are the attention grabbers of the tech world right now and they have their own advantages while using in device.
